Common copper pipes can be divided into the following types:

Copper condensing tubes, crystallizer tubes, air conditioning tubes, various extruded and drawn (reverse extruded) copper tubes, iron white copper tubes, brass tubes, bronze tubes, white copper tubes, beryllium copper tubes, tungsten copper tubes, phosphor bronze tubes, aluminum bronze tubes, tin bronze tubes, imported red copper tubes, etc.

Among them, copper tubes are widely used. Every year, 50% of copper is electrolytic purified into pure copper, which is used in the electrical industry. The red copper mentioned here must be very pure and contain more than 99.95% copper. A small amount of impurities, especially phosphorus, arsenic and aluminum, will greatly reduce the conductivity of copper.

Oxygen in copper (it is easy to mix a small amount of oxygen in copper smelting) has a great impact on the conductivity. Copper used in the electrical industry must generally be oxygen free copper. In addition, impurities such as lead, antimony and bismuth will make the crystallization of copper unable to be combined, resulting in thermal embrittlement, which will also affect the processing of pure copper. Red copper is a relatively pure copper with good conductivity and plasticity, but poor strength and hardness.

The connection firmness of copper pipe is very strong, which makes it more practical. Because there are a variety of pipes in the market, the interface fittings are mainly copper pipes. Even if some pipes can not use copper fittings, they still need a copper fitting at the interface with the faucet.

However, if copper pipe fittings are connected with other pipes, due to the different materials of pipes and fittings, the physical and mechanical properties during thermal expansion and cold contraction are very different, so the firmness of the connection will naturally be subject to additional challenges. Therefore, the connection between copper pipes and copper fittings will greatly enhance the firmness.

Brass tubes are light in weight, good in thermal conductivity and high in low temperature strength. It is commonly used to manufacture heat exchange equipment (such as condenser, etc.). It is also used for assembling low-temperature pipelines in oxygen production equipment. Copper pipes with small diameter are often used to transport pressurized liquids (such as lubrication system, oil pressure system, etc.) and pressure measuring pipes used as instruments.

Brass tubes are strong and corrosion resistant. It mainly has the following advantages: the copper pipe is hard, not easy to corrode, and resistant to high temperature and high pressure. It can be used in a variety of non copper environments. Common brass tubes include electrical brass tubes, refrigeration brass tubes, high-pressure brass tubes, corrosion-resistant brass tubes, connection brass tubes, watercourse brass tubes, electric heating brass tubes and industrial brass tubes.

At present, the extrusion billet supply method is also the main method. Its production process is to melt and cast electrolytic copper into solid round ingots, one by one into the extruder to extrude into tube billets, and then through cold rolling or multi pass linear drawing to the tube billets required for disc drawing.

Copper tube extrusion can be divided into high extrusion ratio and low extrusion ratio, both of which have fine grain structure and good surface quality. The tube billet extruded with high extrusion ratio has smaller specification and thinner wall thickness, and can be directly processed on continuous direct machine or disc drawing machine.

For low extrusion ratio extrusion, large ingots can be used to extrude large-size tube billets, and then cold-rolled tube mills can be used for extension processing. For ingots with the same size and specification, the extrusion tonnage required for high extrusion ratio is large, and the wall thickness tolerance of extruded pipes is large.

Because the three roll pipe mill can make the rolled copper pipe without rotation, it is easy to take up the coil online. It is characterized by a short production process and the elimination of reheating and extrusion processes. It has advantages in energy saving, equipment investment reduction and cost reduction. The large coil and heavy pipe blank create favorable conditions for improving the drawing efficiency of the subsequent process.
